This week our students continue to be immersed in our study of money. Today several engineers collaborated to create a student-led Pizzeria. Complete with a menu, Rigamajig pizzas, and a cash register, our Pizzeria is officially open for business. Through play students are doing the important work of collaborating, negotiating, reading, writing, counting money, making change, and agreeing on a set of rules that works for everybody.
Other students were involved in creating and running a digital pizzeria in an app called Motion Math Pizza. Through this app students are exploring business concepts and gaining experience with money-handling. Students used addition and multiplication to determine how much to charge each customer.
