The Otter class has been asked to assist in the planning of the outdoor classroom. A group of undergraduate students are observing, interviewing, and surveying the Otter class as part of their senior project. On Thursday, the students got the opportunity to share their opinions about certain playground ideas, including climbing structures, swings, and gazebos through a fun activity. The group brought some ideas from some existing children's nature parks, including Westmoreland Park in Portland, which they shared with us on the smartboard. The children were given a survey book where they could choose their favorite ideas.
The planning of the outdoor classroom will continue through this year and we believe the construction will begin this summer.
