Final step of candle making

Our special friend's mother came to assist us in the final step for candle making. The bee's wax that we collected from the honey comb was boiled, strained and heated to a liquid. We started with cylinder shaped molds and added a wick into the center. Then our guest teacher poured the heated liquid into the molds. We had to wait a few minutes for it to cool and then we used a thin rod to poke into the wax to release any air in order to prevent air bubbles. We poured in the last little bit of wax and let the molds rest and cool. We will release the candles from the molds tomorrow and take home hand made bee's wax candles!
