Flat Johnny National Park Road Trip

Flat Johnny took a National Park Road trip with Luke. He passed through Nevada, Arizona, and California.

Here are some of their stops:

  • Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area in Nevada

  • Slide Rock State Park near Sedona Arizona

  • Montezuma’s Castle National Monument in Arizona

  • Badwater Basin Salt Flats in Death Valley National Park California

  • Mosaic Canyon in Death Valley national Park. Much of the first portion is polished marble walls

  • Ash Meadow National Wildlife Refuge.

  • Largest Oasis in Mojave Desert. This is one of the springs that has the endangered pup fish in them

  • Lower Antelope Canyon in the Navajo Nation

Dear Otters,

Here I am on the dragon at a park in Denver, Colorado. I also discovered that I like to climb. Now I am with Claire’s cousins. One baby is crawling around while we try to take a picture. One is in a picture but he wants to play. I am having a fun time in Denver. I like to go on the slide.

Dear Otters,

I am on my way to Washington DC. My airline if flying over three mountains this morning. From the window on my plane I can see Mt. Saint Helens, Mt. Rainer, and Mt. Adams. I will let you know if I see anything more that you might find interesting.

Dear Otters,

 Today I flew on an airplane to Washington DC, which is a city on the eastern side of the United States.

Washington DC is where the people work who make the laws for our country and are in charge of managing it.

Tonight I visited the White House which is the home for the President of the United States.

I did not get to see the president, but it was nice to see where every president lives.
