Numeracy

  • YouCubed- Open, creative, mindset mathematics provocations

  • DreamBox- Interactive online math tools and games. Sign up for free 90 day trial.

  • Math Learning Center- New math activities posted daily for each grade level.

  • Bedtime Math-New math problems related to real-life scenarios posted daily.

  • Math Before Bed- Interesting provocations to inspire mathematical discussions.

  • Khan University- Create a free account to receive access to lessons and practice problems organized by grade level and content.

  • Prodigy- Practice grade-level math skills while navigating through an engaging game.

Literacy

  • Washington County Cooperative Library Services- Provides access to ebooks and audiobook for library card holders. This site even has read along books that allow children to follow along as a story is narrated.

  • Epic!- Digital library for kids. Find your child’s name on our class roster to begin reading.

  • Scholastic Learn at Home- Hear a story being read, read a story, watch an educational video, and complete a draw/write activity

  • Audible Stories- Listen to free audiobooks.

  • Story Time from Space- Hear stories read aloud by astronauts in space.

  • Author Read Alouds- Children’s book authors doing online read alouds and activities.

  • Time for Kids- Read about current events, science, and animals. Fill out short subscription form to access free digital version of Time for Kids magazine.

Science

  • National Science Teaching Association Learning Center- Each weekday, NSTA will share a sensemaking task teachers and families can use to engage their students in authentic, relevant science learning

  • Mystery Science- Explore a variety of interesting topics through videos that answer scientific questions from kids.

  • Brainpop- View videos about a wide range of topics- science, social studies, and math. Class login: ELCotters Password: otters12

  • Cincinnati Zoo Videos- A new video each day highlights an animal living at the Cincinnati Zoo and gives a suggestion for a related learning activity.

  • National Geographic Kids- Explore articles, videos, and photographs.

  • National Geographic Learn at Home- Learning activities created by educators that can be implemented at home.

  • Oregon Zoo- View live videos and access related activities that children can do at home.

  • OMSI- Science videos and activities children can explore at home.

Art

  • Doodles with Mo Willems- Kennedy Center presents a lunchtime doodle with Mo Willems each week day.

  • Art for Kids Hub- Visit this YouTube channel to access a variety of instructional drawing videos. Be sure to supervise your children on YouTube, as it’s sometimes easy to click onto other pages.

  • Draw with Rob- Illustrator Rob Biddulph gives drawing lessons.

Movement

  • Cosmic Kids Yoga- This website offers free yoga videos for children that stream through YouTube. Alternatively, you can download the app and get a two week free trial if you’d prefer to use the app without accessing YouTube.
