First Week of School Sept 4-6
/It was a fantastic first week of school! Our returning Otters stepped up as leaders to welcome our new Otters. We spent a lot of time this week getting to know each other. We shared the stories behind our names, discussed our summer adventures, talked about our favorites, and brought in items from home to share with the group. This week we read many stories, built cool structures in our engineering area, and feasted on ripe fruit from our ELC gardens. We also learned how to play Mancala, which is a game that requires strategic thinking and planning ahead. Together we created a September calendar so students will be aware of important upcoming dates. Students also drew pictures to accompany our daily schedule chart and began creating name art pieces.
